Cameo Art House Theatre Fayetteville Movie Listings Showtimes

I’ve uploaded a 1910 photo of Clune’s Broadway Theatre to the photo section. It looks like the theater was not open yet when the photo was taken, though construction had apparently been completed. The interior of the building was specifically designed as a ‘picture playhouse’ and had decorations which featured marble, plaster, leaded glass and a profusion of electric lights. Though no address is given for it, it appears in 1927, when it had 333 seats, and operated until at least 1930, when it seated 350. I think there’s a very good chance that Princess is another aka for the Dixie/Rose/Cameo.

News About This Theater

There are several there that I never knew Edwards owned. I’m especially surprised to see a theater in Beverly Hills, and the four in Los Angeles. I had thought that, before the company began expanding rapidly in Orange County in the 1960s, all their operations were in, or adjacent to, the San Gabriel Valley. "Clune's new picture house, Los Angeles, Cal., seating 900 people and costing over $50,000, was opened to the public at 10, 15, and 20 cent prices Oct. 10." I worked on a low-budget film that eventually ended up on a quadruple feature, at the Cameo. I was scared to go inside, but the jam-packed marquee cracked me up.

Hay Street,

Moments earlier, the backdrop had parted to reveal an entire wall of mutilated bears, clumsily taped back together. And, in one of the most disturbing moments of all, a human-scale teddy wandered on playing an accordion like a cameo in a horror film, before eventually removing its own oversized head to pick a fight with one of the singers. The tour will also offer a variety of different VIP packages and experiences for fans. VIP Packages may include premium tickets, exclusive access to the pre-show VIP lounge, access to a VIP bar, early entry into the venue, pre-show merchandise shopping opportunity, specially designed gift item, and more. For more information, visit vipnation.com (N. America) or vipnation.eu (Europe). Due to the historic nature of our building, there is no elevator.

The Cameo Art-House Theatre is one of two arthouse cinemas that are located EAST of Raleigh,North Carolina that specializes in showing first-run independent films, documentaries, and foreign releases. Purchased in 1997 by three local architects, Chris and Nasim Kuenzel and Eric Lindstrom, the Cameo Art House Theatre reopened in 2000. The Cameo Art House Theatre has won numerous preservation and adaptive re-use awards and added a second screen, the Loge, on the second floor of its two story storefront style building, in 2002. The Cameo Art House Theatre is cited as the “tipping point” in the revitalization of downtown Fayetteville and it’s marquee burns brightly each night.

The other, tenor Jonah Halton, was vocally lucid and dramatically commanding. Mezzo Veena Akama-Makia was disturbing as Harbison’s Queen and almost funny as Martinů’s appalling Mother, her controlled vibrato mesmerising. As Martinů’s Satan and Harbison’s Swineherd, baritone Edmund Danon pulled off both slapstick physical comedy and an impassioned quasi-mad scene. I was, repeatedly, in these extraordinary performances of two supremely weird operas. Opened in September 1910 as the Pantages Theatre, the Arcade is the oldest surviving theatre in the historic Broadway Theatre District.

The Cameo books mainstream movies, but its specialties are art movies, independent films, documentaries and foreign films. There’s a main theater downstairs and a smaller one upstairs. In their 16th year, Mom+Pop Music has curated a critically acclaimed list of artists including  Courtney Barnett, MGMT, Beach Bunny, Caamp, Ashe, Orion Sun, Porter Robinson, SEB, Tom Morello, and many others.

During the 1930s the Cameo was operated by Fox West Coast, who were succeeded by Pacific Theatres and eventually Metropolitan Theatres. Before its closure in 1991, for several decades the Cameo screened quadruple-feature grindhouse movies. The newest of all the theatres in the historic Broadway Theatre District, the Roxie opened in November 1931, built on the site of Quinn’s Superba Theatre (1914).

A touching portrait of family and friendship, EZRA follows Max Bernal (Bobby Cannavale), a stand-up comedian living with his father (Robert De Niro), while struggling to co-parent his autistic son Ezra (introducing William Fitzgerald) with his ex-wife (Rose Byrne). When forced to confront difficult decisions about their son’s future, Max and Ezra embark on a cross-country road trip that has a transcendent impact on both their lives. In the rural alpine hamlet of Mizubiki, not far from Tokyo, Takumi and his daughter, Hana, lead a modest life gathering water, wood, and wild wasabi for the local udon restaurant. Increasingly, the townsfolk become aware of a talent agency’s plan to build an opulent glamping site nearby, offering city residents a comfortable “escape” to the snowy wilderness.

The Cameo never had a balcony and its seating capacity in the early days was 900, decreasing to 600 in later years. The owners of the Roxie (November 1931), Cameo (October 1910), and Arcade (September 1910) have pulled building permits to replace and repair the roof areas of all three theatres. Over the years there have been multiple roof leaks, and no further building improvements are likely to take place until the leaks have been fixed, so this is good news for these three underutilized theatres.

When two company representatives arrive and ask for local guidance, Takumi becomes conflicted in his involvement, as it becomes clear that the project will have a pernicious impact on the community. Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s follow up to his Academy Award®-winning DRIVE MY CAR is a foreboding fable on humanity's mysterious, mystical relationship with nature. As sinister gunshots echo from the forest, both the locals and representatives confront their life choices and the haunting consequences they have. From visionary filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, Challengers stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy turned coach and a force of nature who makes no apologies for her game on and off the court.

Both are rarities – ROH director of opera Oliver Mears staged the Martinů’s UK premiere himself back in 2007, while this is only the second UK production of Harbison’s chamber opera – and you can see why. The sequence of events in Larmes de Couteau is somewhat clearer, albeit in an explicitly surreal vein (“It’s very French, isn’t it?” said the woman sitting next to me to her companion come the interval). The plot of Full Moon in March, meanwhile, made sense on paper (a quest piece involving a swineherd as the wannabe suitor of a queen) but in performance the libretto – adapted from a WB Yeats play – verges on impenetrable.
